Most venture capital in Africa is deployed the same way it is everywhere else: one company, one check, one board seat. That model works, but it asks an investor to make a fresh diligence call on every single deal — a new team, a new market, a new set of assumptions, every time.
DIMTECH's Investor Partnership program is built around a different unit: the studio itself.
What "studio-level" actually means
When an investor partners with DIMTECH at the studio level, they aren't backing a single venture — they're backing the process that produces the venture. That process is the same one behind every company we've built so far: LexAI Africa, LocalAmplify, RecoverAI Nigeria, Nairameat, CliniScribe, HarvestMind, and SolarIQ. Each of those started the same way — a problem space we'd validated, a founding team we recruited or co-founded with, and a studio team (product, engineering, design, AI research) embedded from day one.
A studio-level partnership gives an investor:
- Portfolio-wide exposure from a single relationship, instead of re-underwriting each venture independently.
- Earlier access — studio partners see ventures before they're spun out as standalone companies raising their own rounds.
- Operating leverage — the same product, engineering, and AI research talent that de-risked the last seven ventures is already in place for the next one.
Where venture-level investment still fits
Not every partner wants studio-wide exposure, and that's fine — DIMTECH also takes direct venture-level investment into individual portfolio companies at pre-seed and seed stage, for investors who've found a specific sector or team they want to back directly.
What we look for in a partner
The studio model only works if partners bring more than capital. We look for investors who can also open a market, make an introduction, or bring domain expertise a founding team doesn't have yet — the same way we ask our own operators to be hands-on, not just present.
If that's the kind of partnership you're looking for, get in touch.
